As a self-proclaimed beer enthusiast, there’s nothing quite like exploring a brewery when they open.

So when I heard about Gillingham Brewing Company in Bloomfield, Prince Edward County, I wasn’t long going to check it out.

Little did I know, I was in for a treat!

This small-batch, award-winning craft brewery is located on its own family vineyard and offers up to 20 rotating taps of Gillingham’s finest brews, a delicious lunch menu, and an extensive outdoor seating area.

The cherry on top? It’s all surrounded by picturesque views of the Domaine Darius vineyard. Of course, we popped over there for a wine tasting too.

So, grab a pint (or two), and let me fill you in on my sunshine-filled visit to Gillingham Brewing Company.

Our Beer Tasting

Vienna Lager – This reddish-brown beer had a malty aroma and a slight malt sweetness.

Jack’s Black Lager –  Had roasted malt flavors with a hint of chocolate but notes of coffee.

Dunkelweizen – My first ever. A German dark and wheaty beer were surprisingly fruity with light spicy flavors.

Jo’s Double Chocolate Stout –  Dark chocolate, malts that finished a little bitter.

Harvest Apple Ale – My first cider ale. Not a fan…but it reminded me of some ciders I’ve had from Loch Mor Cider in Hillier.
